Memorial Day Trip

We drove down to Salt Lake over Memorial weekend to help my sister-in-law Joanna get her house all set up pretty. She just moved into a new home and wanted help decorating it, and I was able to work on that with her. I spent a lot of the month of May working on mood boards and finding accessories for her home, and it was tons of fun. I don't have pictures because it wasn't all finished before we left, but I will post the mood boards that I came up with, so you can get an idea. of what it looks like.

Potty break on the side of the road:)

Eating breakfast at Grandma and Grandpa Taylors

Presleigh has been talking about the temple a lot lately. She looks at our wedding pictures and talks about how we were married in the temple and now we are "the boss." Then she talks about how someday she will be married in the temple and then she will be "the boss." I love that she loves the temple and loves to talk about it with us. She obviously doesn't understand the importance of being married in the temple yet, but I am so glad that she can see the pictures of us and want to follow that example:) On our trip down we decided that we would take her to temple square. She was very excited to be able to go see the temple. She was a little dissapointed when we told her she couldn't go inside yet though. It was the perfect Sunday afternoon activity.

The kiddos were chasing Wayne by the conference center. It was pretty cute:)

Another potty break, on the way home. Noah was running around, trying to get out the wiggles:)

Toys Toys Toys

We've been dealing with toy issues for a while now. Wayne is not a very big toy fan and i'm not a big mess fan so we needed to come up with some way to eliminate these problems. I don't buy toys unless it's a special occasion (birthday or christmas) and we have had them, for the most part organized in our credenza. I tried only letting the kiddos play with one thing at a time, but they are pretty much capable of dumping out all toys in a matter of seconds, so that wasn't really working. Pres and Noah make huge messes and we have a hard time getting them to clean them up. I would just throw the toys all in the trash but I hate to get rid of the few that we have.

A while back Wayne suggested that we should lock them (the toys) in a closet or something. I laughed and thought he was crazy. Then after a few more days of toy chaos I caved. Wayne decided to bust out the childproof locks and now our toy credenza is kid proof. Sometimes I feel like a mean mom because my kids can't freely dump out all of their toys, but I have noticed that they are still able to find other ways to play without a massive plasstic mess in our living room.

So now instead of toys all over the place we have new messes to deal with. Wall decor, book cases, shoes, and pots and pans are all very fun for our kiddos now. Lately the fridge has been a huge hit in keeping our kids entertained. They love to swing on the door and rearrange condiments. Hairbows are found throughout the house and stuffed in random places. My make-up is also fun for little Noah, who like his mother, has a love for red lipstick.

I guess we should have just locked them (the kiddos) in the closet instead:)

A New Bike

I picked this bike up for Presleigh. I found it on craigslist, and she was very excited to be getting a new barbie bike. I tried to help her ride it when we got home but she was a little nervous. And now she is refusing to ride it. She says it is "very scary." Noah would like to ride it and tries to climb on it, but he's way too little.

Call me Kassie!!!

Yesterday Presleigh wanted to play baseball. So she picked up the hose nozzle to my vaccuum and a miniture stufffed soccer ball and asked me to throw it to her. I was pleasently surprised how well she could hit the little thing. Then we changed it up and played catch with Noah's Buzz bouncy ball.

She was talking my ear off about wanting to be a dragon when she grows up, and then told me to "Call me Kassie!" I asked her why Kassie and she told me that is the name of one of the dragons on Dragon Tales. I agreed and started calling her kassie. Then she wanted me to call Noah ork. It's funny because ork is what Wayne calls people who or being dorks, but anyway. She then asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up. I told her a mommy. She gave me a funny look and then I said, ok how about a doctor. She then started calling me doctor. If Wayne or I called her Presleigh she would yell in a silly voice "Call me Kassie" It was a fun little game.

So then while sitting in Sacrament meeting later that day Noah turns to Presleigh and says "Kassie" Presleigh turned to him and in a not so reverent voice says "I'm not Kassie, I'm Presleigh" She had us quite confused about who she was at which time.

The weeds are growing like crazy in our yard. This is perfect for Pres, because she thinks dandylions are beautiful flowers. She likes to pick them and put them in her basket.

The kids got into the sunscreen the other day, and made this wonderful mess.

Cousins came over for some dessert on my birthday. Of course we love when they come and visit us.

Noah, hanging out with the boys. I can't remember what they were doing, but Noah was laughing at them.

Noah and John having a moment

This is proof that my kids are playing well together these days. Presleigh took blankets and all sorts of toys outside to play with on the lawn. She put pillows down and her and Noah pretended like they were sleeping under the stars. It was very very cute even though it was a pain to clean up. They are the best little friends:)

Our kids love to do pull-ups. Noah asks quite often to get on the pull-up bar in our doorway and then tries to pull himself up. He says pull-up so well and it's stinkin cute. Here they are at the park hanging on the bar above the slide.

Noah is super brave and has conquered the bars at the park:)

Happy birthday to me

Last week we celebrated my 26th birthday. I wasn't very excited about turning 26 this year because i'm officially over the mid 20s hump. I think I feel super old because I work with a lot of young people. The day was a good one though. I took the kiddos to the outlets for a little shopping. Then on our way home Wayne surprised me that he was coming home from work early. He made me a yummy cake and then we headed out to Tucanos for a delicious early dinner as a fam. Wayne had attempted to make me an ice cream roll cake the night before, but it didn't turn out. The Lewis family came over that night for some cake and ice cream. It was a pretty low key birthday, but it was perfect for me:)

Easter

We had a very nice Easter this year. On Friday evening we were able to attend The Easter Journey as a family. Easter Journey was a production put on by our 3 wards in our stake. They decorated the church building so that it looked like Jerusalem and took us into different rooms where there were people who taught about the last 3 days of Christ's life. It was an amazing experience. I am so glad that we decided to go. Our kids struggled a little bit, but it was so worth it. The spirit was so strong there. I hope that we get to enjoy this every year.

Sunday morning the kids dove into their baskets. Noah wasn't cooperating, so here's a picture of Pres with her's.
Here are the little one's all dressed up and ready for stake conference. If you click on the pic, you might be able to see Noah's new spiked hair.

Noah got a buzz lightyear in his basket. As you can see in both of the pics he is holding onto him. He loves to throw buzz on the ground and say "buzz broke" he also says "infinity and beyond" as he holds buzz up high. It's kind of hard to understand the infinity part though:)

We went over to the Lewis' home for Easter dinner. It was so yummy!!!!! The kids played outside a lot and I ate a lot of delicious homemade rolls. I hope we get to enjoy this every year too:)

First Haircut

We decided Easter morning that Noah was in need of a haircut. He had long strands of hair all over. I didn't want to cut it because I thought it made him look more like a baby, but we decided that it was time. So after our yummy cinnamon roll breakfast (which is all over his face) Wayne got out the hair clippers.

At first he showed Noah the clippers and how they work.
Then Noah wanted to try.

He did pretty good throughout because he had his new buzz toy. I was sitting in front of him trying to distract him. He didn't really mind until Wayne started using the scissors. He got really nervous when he saw the scissors.

I had to jump in the shower by the end of his haircut so I didn't get an after photo. It turned out really cute though but he doesn't look like my little baby anymore:(
