Only one for now

Here's the only picture we have from our family pics that we had done last wednesday. I love this picture so much and am so glad that we had Jillian take our pictures. Noah gives mostly forehead kisses, so this picture is perfect!!! I can't wait to see more.

taking steps

Yes, it's true. My baby is taking steps. I don't have any pics but I wanted to document this. Yesterday Noah took his first few steps. I think the first one was at church during sacrament meeting. But when we got home he started trying again. He was so cute, getting super excited every time he tried to walk. He kept falling and then getting right back up to try again. I did notice that he is much lighter on his feet these days. I know he'll be walking before we know it.

We are leaving for LA on thursday and I can't wait. The kids and I will drive to LA with Wayne and then fly out the next morning for MT. It's been over a year since I've been back to visit, so I am very anxious. Presleigh is very excited to ride on the "orange airplane up in the sky" but I can't say that I'm looking forward to that part.

Our new favorite activity

My bike finally came last week. YAY!!!! We got a trailer for the kids from my cousin which is amazing, cause I had been looking on craigslist for weeks. Then Pres and I ran out and bought Noah a special baby helmet (for his little head) and Daddy a bike for an early father's day present. We have taken a bike ride almost every day since we got completely equipped. The kids love it and enjoy playing together in their double trailer. And i'm realizing that my legs are not quite as strong as they use to be. The hills in Rancho are absolutely killer.

It's finished

So after a couple practice rounds I finally finished Presleigh's dress. I didn't use a pattern, just the picture from my last post. Didn't it turn out so cute!!! I think I saved myself about $30 making this on my own, and it looks the exact same. Sorry about her crazy hair. I didn't brush it yesterday:)

We took the kids to the park and had a picnic last weekend. It was really cold, and not a very good idea, but the kids enjoyed it. Noah decided that he wanted to steal Presleigh's sandwhich. This boy eats like crazy. Everytime he sees food he freaks out screaming until you give him some. You'd think we were starving him or something.

This happens just about every night. The kids help daddy with the dishes. So cute!!!!

Be Clean

The other day I was reading in the book "Way to Be" by President Hinckley. I love this book and it's simple lessons. I decided to read the chapter "Be clean" and I was surprised to se a paragraph about friends.

It reads:
" I have never forgotten that lesson, which leads me to urge you to choose your friends carefully. It is they who will lead you in one direction or the other. Everybody wants friends. Everybody needs friends. No one wishes to be without them. But never lose sight of the fact that it is your friends who will lead you along the paths that you will follow. While you should be friendly with all people, select with great care those whom you wish to have close to you. They will be your safeguards in situations where you may vacillate between choices, and you in turn may save them."

Oh my goodness how I love this. I always heard "choose your friends wisely" growing up but haven't thought much about it as an adult. We do need to use our best judgement when choosing our friends and who to be close to. These friends will not only influence you but they will influence your children as well. I think a good question to ask yourself is "would I want my kids to be friends with these poeple?" if the answer is yes, then you're good to go.

I am so grateful that we have found such amazing friends here. What a blessing it is to have people around that influence our family for good.

Dress inspiration!!!

Ok so this little girl is wearing the dress that I want to make for Presleigh to wear in our family pics. It's actually a shabby apple dress, but it costs like $40 and heck if i'm paying that for a toddler dress. So i'm gonna hack it.

So this is my practice one that I made. I used some different material and tried a few different things on it just to play. I wanted to do a sleeve instead of the little ruffle sleeve, but I think i'll try a cap sleeve next time. These pictures don't really do the dress justice, it looks really cute on her. I'll let you know how the real one turns out.

New Hair and a Bow tie!!!!!!!!!!

It had been almost a year since I had gotten my hair cut and almost 2 years since a color. I decided to get a little crazy and cut some bangs.

I made Noah this cute little bow tie. I love it. He looked so cute on Sunday at church with his big ol bow tie. Now I want to make him some suspenders to go with it.
I'm working on a bunch of projects right now because I just scheduled our summer family pictures with this photographer. I need to make Noah a new tie, bow tie, and suspenders. He also needs a birthday onesie and hat. I'm making Presleigh a dress, which is sort of stressing me out because i'm just making it up, which i'm finding isn't the easiest thing to do. I also need to make a couple headbands for Pres and I. I love family pictures!!!!
