She's 3!!!!!

We celebrated Presleigh's birthday last Saturday after we got moved in a little bit. She had told us that she wanted a pink birthday so we tried to make the day as pink as possible. That morning we got up and went and got 3 pink balloons so that we could let them go in the sky. It was kind of foggy out and getting dark by the time we let them go, so we don't have any pictures.

Here we are all dressed in pink:)
Presleigh picked out her own outfit, she chose pretty much anything she could find that was pink.

A couple projects

These are the two projects that I have done since we've moved. Noah got the car play mat for Christmas and Presleigh got the felt playhouse for her birthday. It was not really good timing on trying to get these done because we didn't have a home and I didn't have most of the supplies I needed, but they ended up getting done. Both ideas came from here. I love how they both turned out and that the kids love playing with them. The car play mat is all appliqued which is a ton of work but lots of fun. I liked being able to draw the different buildings and try to make them look like actually places that we frequent, like Target. The playhouse fits perfectly over our kitchen table. I would like to make another one, to line the inside so that there are fun things to do inside the house too. That probably won't happen til next birthday though. I'm on a project break:)

A Big Thank You!!!

We have been so busy lately. We finally decided to let our offer on our house go, and we ended up moving into a rental last week. I will give more details later. I wanted to blog about how grateful we are for the Lewis Family.

Wow, the Lewis family is amazing. They willingly put up with us for 6 weeks with no end in sight. When I asked Rhonda if it was ok if we could stay with them until our house closes which we thought was going to be maybe 2 weeks, I'm sure she and her fam didn't have any clue that they were going to be putting up with our messes and two destructive kiddos for 6 weeks. I am not kidding I did not hear one complaint out of any of them, and they have 4 awesome kids, one of which we stole his room the whole time. Not even one complaint, they just loved us and were so generous. We appreciate them so much:) My kids loved being able to play with the lewis kids and loved their dog Buster. I don't think that this could have been done with any other family and we are so grateful that they were so willing to put up with us and all of my complaining.

We love this fam and learned so much from their great example of charity towards us:) I hope that if any of our family is ever in need we will reach out and help them with a loving attitude just like the Lewis' have done for us.

Homeless for the Holidays

We haven't been back to Montana for Christmas since before Wayne and I were married. It's a battle that we tend to have every year. Wayne's not a big winter taveler and I usually can't blame him. But this year due to our homeless circumstances we were able to make the trip to Montana to spend a couple days with my family. It was so great being able to enjoy Christmas with the fam. We played games, ate yummy food, and laughed a lot. I'm not sure when we'll make it back there again for the Holidays but this Christmas was definitely a memorable one.
This picture is of Noah not in Montana but here in Meridian. It was super cold out but he didn't care. He loves this trampoline and I love that he can't fall off.

This is as close as she would get to Santa. She shook his finger:)

A New Home

So our house situation has gotten ridiculous. We have been waiting patiently for our home to close since just after Thanksgiving. We originally thought that we would close on the 10th of December but found out that the bank who owned the home wasn't actually on the title. So we have been waiting the last three weeks for the bank to get their name on the title so that they could actually sell us the home.

Things were looking good the last few days, and we were thinking that it was going to get resolved by the first of the year. Then yesterday I got a phone call from our realtor saying that they had made a huge mistake and had put the wrong bank on the title. We were back to square one. We decided that this house could take another month to close which is crazy, and we aren't willing to keep our family in limbo for that long.

So we found a home in a nice subdivision that we will begin renting on January 1st. I am so excited and finally feel some stability. I am sad that we are not getting into our home that we wanted, but i feel totally relieved that we will have a place to call our own now.

Isn't this picture amazing. The whole picture is black from the fire except for the outline of Christ.

Lewis' Home and The Big Give

So we are staying with my cousin Rhonda and her family here in Meridian. They are amazing and so sweet to let us stay with them until our house closes. Which we still have no idea when that will happen.

The first week we got here it snowed 7 inches which is some sort of record here. They cancelled school and everything. So we went out and got our kids all of their Idaho snow gear. Presleigh went out and played in it with her cousins. I'm not a big fan of the snow anymore but when I was little we lived in Wyoming and spent all winter playing in the snow. I know that my kids are going to love the snow. The snow has completely melted now and the kids are actaully enjoying my cousin's nice big yard and trampoline.

Last week we were able to join in on one of my cousin's family Christmas traditions. They do a Big Give every year and it is something that we will continue on i'm sure. There were three families and we each get 20 dollars and then go out with our individual families for 1.5 hours and think of creative ways to give away our 20 dollars. The max you can give at a time is $5. It was a little tough at first trying to decided on how we were going to give it away but it was so much fun. We did a few things to get rid of our money. My favorite was we went to little caesers pizza and gave a couple in line $5 and told them that we wanted to buy them their pizza. It was so fun watching their face and seeing how surprised and grateful they were. Such a fun way to give a little back to people during the holidays.
